A rectangular flex panel for off-grid vehicles and special projects.
Our new 50 Watt flex panel uses SunPower’s high efficiency solar cells with an anti-reflective collection surface. These panels can be installed along curved surfaces up to 30 degrees. The textured collection surface captures reflected light off the panel, packing even more power into the 23% efficient SunPower solar cells. This tough clear coating is also scratch resistant, unlike traditional flexible solar technologies.
This panel may be purchased with a twin-wall polypropylene backsheet to help protect it from the high heat on rooftops. This backsheet adds a small space between your rooftop and the solar panel to keep it from overheating on hot days. This item is optional but recommended for installation on metal rooftops.
These ETFE laminated panels are supplied with industry-standard MC4 connectors for a locking dust proof, water resistant seal (IP 67 rated). They can be fastened seamlessly to almost any surface with their brass mounting grommets. The sides of the panel can be secured with roof repair tape for a “fastener-free” installation (contact us for details).
The panel’s junction box can be mounted to the surface (blue side) or back (white side) depending on your project’s needs. Please select one or the other when ordering.
How do I use it?
These panels must be used with a solar charge controller in order to recharge batteries. You need to purchase a compatible controller to use it with your power system. We can customize the cable length and connector type for your project. Panels are supplied with industry standard MC4 connectors and PV rated wire.
